Madam Mim

Mad Madam Mim

Mad Madame Mim is a minor antagonist in the Kingdom Hearts Unlimited Saga, and an agent of the Hellfire Organization.

Mim never appeared in the original game series, but now appears here in a substantial role, first appearing in "Birth of A New Era" as a minor troublemaker around the alleyways of Disney-Land, then making a larger impact in "The Journey" as the direct rival to Merlin, teaching the art of Magic to Ellidyr in preparing him to fight Taran for control over the Kingdom Key of Light.

Later on, she participates in the final battle of Enchanted Dominion by distracting the Keyblade Gang in combat long enough for Maleficent to begin the Unholy Ceremony of Eternal Night uninterrupted.

Story[]

The Keyblade Wars[]

A person's history can be as mysterious and unknown as one soul's secret as deep as the ocean. Such was the case for Mad Madame Mim who was borne into the Earth from unlikely forces that led her into direct confrontation with the wizard Merlin.

Long ago, during the time of the Land of the Legend, Morgana le Fay, then a benevolent sorceress, tried to make ends meet for the people she tutored under her tutelage, including her younger brother Arthur Pendragon and her young apprentice Merlin, then a mage in training. Though she found herself at an average advantage, Morgana still yearned for more power to acquire, wanting to protect the universe from an imminent crisis that would befall to the world as prophesied by the "Tome of Prophecy". She also desired for a goal to eradicate the notion of "Death" from existence so that every being can live an immortal life. Nonetheless, her lust for seeking more power left her into a disadvantage against the rising darkness posed by the Great Evil that affected it, leaving Morgana to fell prey to its machinations. When the wizard Merlin took note of her sudden behavior, he tried to stop her, only for the sorceress to beat him in battle of sorcery.

As she wandered through the lands on purpose to gain knowledge and power from powerful sources, Morgana happened on Avalon, the realm of the Fair Folk. Meeting with the changeling Puck, Morgana convinced him to reveal the secrets of their powers. The changeling, intrigued by her ambition and drive, revealed her the powers of the Fair Folk, including shapeshifting to various animals to entice their victims. He also revealed Morgana's true status, as she was also a changeling herself, having been unwittingly raised by Gorlois of Cornwall and his wife Igraine after their real daughter was stolen away by the Fair Folk. As time passed on, the two bonded together, leading to their intimacy later on.

From the subsequent union, Morgana borne a child with incredible capabilities, as she was shown shapeshifting from a young age. Through the imitation of the various animals she took form, Morgana found a suitable name for her child: Mim. Explaining that other wizards were dedicated in stopping her research at all cost, Morgana convinced Mim that they were enemies trying to stop a cause that would benefit them in the future. She also encouraged her daughter in her craftmanship, explaining that she would have been the most powerful sorceress in due time, able to best even the mage Merlin. To cement her legacy, Morgana instructed Mim to tutor the young and inexperienced Mordred into the dark arts, eventually making him a powerful sorcerer in the fight against Arthur, his bitter rival. Together, they tried to take on Merlin and his allies in the effort to unlock the secrets of Kingdom Hearts. However, both Morgana and Mim were defeated by the radiant light emitted from Kingdom Hearts, forcing them to retreat. Ever since then, Mim detested the thought of coming into contact with whatever the light touched, including radiant sunshine, preferring to remain in the dark.

Before Birth of A New Era[]

Still, the age of the Land of Legend would have come to an end, leaving only the wake of destruction caused by the Keyblade Wars. Morgana was not an exception and perished during the ensuing battle, leaving Mim to take refuge in the rural fiefdoms of Castle Sauvage. There, she lived on her own, isolated from the outside world, leaving her powers to manifest on a rapid scale. Nonetheless, her optimism would turn for the worse as she became alarmed of the ongoing conflicts. For once, Mim was informed of the invasion on the Moors, home of the fairy Melena Applethorn, leading her to be further distanced from the affairs of the mortals, fearing the wrath of the commoners against magic users. Furthermore, she became alarmed of Merlin's presence in the universe, now a powerful wizard, who tried to lead the champions of the light in the fight against the forces of the darkness. A sworn enemy of the wizard, she proclaimed that she would do anything in her power to destroy Merlin on purpose to avenge her mother's honor.

To this day, she still remained isolated in her burrow, waiting for the moment to strike back at the magic users who prefer light over darkness. Her chance would soon come to fruition, as she would be acquainted by a mysterious figure, who proposed to cause trouble for most of the chosen champions in exchange of joining Melena's Separatist Confederacy (with the faerie herself now addressed as Maleficent) for the goal of global domination. Mim agreed to his offer, eager to take revenge on the champions of the light who humiliated her in the first place.

Encoded Truths[]

The Fantasmic Dreamtime[]

Return of the Keyblade[]

Appearance[]

obese, ugly, purple hair, green eyes, purple shirt, crimson skirt, purple shoes. That's her looks, and dang is she proud of it!

Personality[]

Madam Mim is a very powerful witch who is less powerful than Merlin himself; however overconfidence is her biggest flaw. She is an old rival of Merlin, and holds him in disregard. Mim is presented as boisterous, mischievous, and rather conceited, a sorceress much impressed with her own power who delights in causing trouble. She is also a somewhat morbid character with distaste for sunshine and all things wholesome.

She is also hypocritical, as she broke her own rules along with Merlin's during their duel, and used a "loophole" when she took on the form of a dragon, meaning she doesn't care about rules at all, and had probably just made them up to limit Merlin (whose honorable side would not allow him to break rules).

Abilities[]

Madam Mim claims to be more powerful than Merlin, but in actuality, she is merely a specialist in dark magic. She is shown doing a few minor tricks, like withering flowers. The main ability she displayed however was her shape-shifting skill with which she can take the form of anything she wants. During her introduction scene, she changes into a cat, and magically makes herself uglier, and then beautiful. During her wizard duel with Merlin, she turned into: an alligator, a fox, a hen, an elephant, a tiger, a rattlesnake, and a rhinoceros, all of which were colored pink and an ugly, purple, fire-breathing dragon.
