M.O.D.O.K./George Tarleton

"If you think I've evolved beyond the joys of murder, you'd be wrong."

George Tarleton, aka MODOK (Mental Organism Designed Only for Konquest) is the current leader of AIM in the Kingdom Hearts Unlimited Saga, first appearing in "A Year of Misery" as a minor antagonist with further appearances in later installments. Formerly one of AIM's top scientists, Tarleton volunteered to become a human test subject in an experiment to become a living computer, named MODOC (Mental Organism Designed Only for Computing). The experiment was successful, and he served Aldrich Killian before his death. Seeing an opportunity, MODOC killed his handlers, renamed himself MODOK, and took over the organization.

History[]

Backstory[]

(Original name - George Tarleton; born in the '70s in Erie, Pennsylvania; gifted in technical and neurological sciences, which earned him a Masters' degree in Neurology; got a job at an up and coming think tank called Advanced Idea Mechanics; given a grant to work on his pet project: expanding the capability of the human brain to almost supercomputer levels; got far enough in his research to begin using human test subjects, but was thwarted in his ambitions by Aldrich Killian, who used his brain mapping technology to complete his Extremis Project; was "rewarded" for helping Killian by being demoted from his position and forcibly turned into a test subject for his own experiment; undergoes his horrific metamorphosis into a giant head and grafted onto a cybernetic harness that made him into A.I.M.'s living supercomputer)

A Year of Misery[]

(forced by Killian into guiding his Extremis soldiers in their master plan to kill Iron Man for his petty revenge and overthrow HYDRA as the new leading criminal organization in Midgard-616; resents Killian for basically backstabbing him and plots to overthrow him when the time is right, which comes when Pepper and Tony destroy Killian at the Battle of the Norco Tanker; takes over leadership of A.I.M. with a new goal of developing new scientific breakthroughs and conquering Midgard utilizing those breakthroughs with HYDRA's help; secretly has another goal - continuing his research in neuroscience to perfect his unstable shrinking molecules, hopefully to cure his disfigured state while retaining his increased intelligence, perhaps by stealing the Pym Particles used by Ant-Man, maybe?...)

An Empire of Dreams[]

(serves as a benefactor to Ultron and Dominion XIII for the events of Age of Ultron, providing him with back-up technology to provide for the creation of the Ultron Sentinel project, though he suspects that further involvement with the Doom Phantom's plan will lead him to disaster, and so retreats with his minions into hiding)

Encoded Truths[]

(Is one of several A.I.'s formerly allied to Dominion XIII to try and throw their hand into conquering the Digital World before Maleficent's Hellfire Organization can; hires former SVR agent Anton Ivanov to serve as a security consultant for AIM, promising him the chance to get his revenge on Phil Coulson if he helps the Empire with a few simple tasks; is one of several Imperial associates requested to join the meeting held in the Royal Palace at Imperial Coruscant to discuss the return of Emperor Palpatine and the power of his legendary Keyblade)

The Fantasmic Dreamtime[]

(Sends Anton Ivanov to infiltrate the Watchdogs and take them over from within in order to secure them as a private military force under AIM's control, then uses propaganda to trick the members into believing that Felix Blake never existed, only Anton Ivanov and that he has always founded and ruled the Watchdogs since the beginning; makes a brief alliance with Gideon Malick and Klaus Voorhees to provide them with technology to help in the rescue of Alveus Hive)

Return of the Keyblade[]

(Serves as an extra/partner-in-crime to Anton Ivanov, eventually making alliances with Hive, Machinesmith, the revived Ophelia Sarkissian/Alkhema, General Janna Hale, and the Red Skull's Ghost, each in an attempt to strengthen AIM's finances & technologies or assist the other villains in their schemes to conquer Midgard)

The Second Trilogy[]

(Is at the lowest point in his life and career, what with AIM having fallen into bankruptcy and his own life-support system falling apart, all without a single victory to his name; attempts one final experiment with the modified PYM Particle-Extremis serum to heal himself and turn himself in to the authorities as a normal man, but only ends up shrinking himself even further into the Quantum Realm, where he is enslaved by the equally imprisoned Kang the Conqueror to do the future warlord's bidding as the new head of his armies with Ravonna and Baltag's respective defeats; clearly stated to be George Tarleton instead of Darren Cross, who is all but stated to have died from his shrinking demise; reprises his role from Ant-Man 3)
